Understanding this difference is the first step toward building a coherent network strategy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"41\"><strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"41\">Faster Mobile Networks\u2014Except Indoors<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"43\" data-end=\"503\">The promise of 5G SA (Stand-Alone, often called \u201ctrue 5G\u201d or \u201c5G+,\u201d which is still rolling out in France) and eventually 6G lies in higher speeds and lower latency. To fully benefit from 5G indoors, companies need to invest in specific infrastructure like Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) or small cells\u2014solutions that are costly and complex to deploy.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"505\" data-end=\"845\">\u201cWiFi will therefore remain the preferred and most reliable solution for high-performance indoor connectivity\u2014even looking ahead to 2030.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1032\"><strong data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1032\">The Slow Rise of Private Networks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1034\" data-end=\"1421\"><strong>Beyond public 5G, a new trend is quietly gaining traction: private 5G<\/strong>. Open RAN works by separating hardware from software and virtualizing the network\u2014often referred to as \u201cnetwork softwarization.\u201d <strong>The goal is to break away from legacy vendor lock-in and promote innovation, competition, and flexibility in mobile network deployments.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1423\" data-end=\"1861\">\u201cIn practice, private 5G networks will mainly serve critical and operational use cases in industrial settings. It delivers secure, seamless connectivity in closed environments. <strong>Although the concept is appealing for improving user experience, widespread adoption has been slow<\/strong>. Several obstacles remain: complex business models (who pays for roaming traffic?), concerns around data privacy and security, and the fragmentation of the global ecosystem. <strong>However, in closed environments\u2014such as retail stores\u2014it&#8217;s likely we\u2019ll see more automatic, secure connections through in-store mobile apps using the same Passpoint technology<\/strong>. This offers a practical response to the challenge of poor indoor coverage.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3245\" data-end=\"3286\"><strong data-start=\"3245\" data-end=\"3286\">WiFi Will Remain the Dominant Player<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3288\" data-end=\"3653\"><strong>Despite the rise of 5G and the upcoming 6G, WiFi isn\u2019t going anywhere\u2014<\/strong>especially when it comes to guest or customer access in businesses, stores, and public venues.
